Archives For Madelynn

A few weeks ago my pastor said from the pulpit that the church is supposed to be supplemental in the raising of your children.  I take this idea very seriously as a pastor and I am always trying to find ways to equip parents.  Today I want to recommend what I would consider the best worship music out there for children right now.

More than a few times a parent has asked me how they could get their hands on quality worship music for their children. Continue Reading…

Snowmageddon

Jeff  —  February 2, 2011 — 3 Comments

It is the aftermath of what people are calling, “Snowmageddon.” The snow has finally stopped, but to try and get out of your house or neighborhood is virtually impossible.  My next priority is to shovel the driveway.  This should be fun, since it is 2 degrees outside right now.  I honestly think that this is the worst snowstorm that I can ever remember!  So this leads to the question, what to do on a snow day?  These are some of the things I will be doing. And I Married This Woman?

Jeff  —  January 8, 2011 — 1 Comment

Marriage is about sacrifice, selflessness, and a willingness to place the needs of your family ahead of your own.  That is what today is all about for the Ferguson family.  I am not in this partnership for what I can get out of it.  I am in this partnership to be a willing servant, to make sure that my wife feels loved and appreciated.  Today…that is what I am setting out to do. The Best of 2010

Jeff  —  December 31, 2010 — 2 Comments

Here we go!  The following is a list of what I consider to be some highlights from this past year.

  • Rochelle and I celebrated five years of marriage!  It is so hard to believe that it has been five years already.  I love my wife just as much as when I saw her walking down the aisle almost five and half years ago.  I still say wow!
  • We celebrated Madelynn’s 1 year birthday party!  This year has been amazing as we have watched Madelynn grow up.  I love her so much! Continue Reading…

Week #52

Here we are…the last week of the year!  The church that I work for generously gave us this week off.  I look forward to this time every year as it is a time to unwind and refocus myself for the next year.  Holidays on the church calendar are a busier time as we are ramping up to prepare for special services.  As a result, the week off after Christmas always comes at a great time!  I am ready for it! Merry Christmas from the Ferguson family!  To the readers of this blog here is our 2010 Christmas card.  Some of you I have never met and do not know, but I hope you have a GREAT Christmas this year.  This card is just a little snapshot of what the past twelve months have meant to Rochelle, Madelynn, and I.  Believe me when I say that it has been a great year!  Merry Christmas! Today I begin what I am going to call “My 12 Days of Christmas.” 12 days before Christmas (not consecutive) I will post something Christmas related.  Some days it will be a tradition that we have as a family, something from Scripture reminding us of the birth of Christ, or a ministry idea that I have concerning Christmas. So today December 1, I present to you day 1 of “My 12 Days of Christmas.” Continue Reading…

Six years ago today I was nervous…I was excited…there was anticipation of what was to come.  It was this day that my life was going to change forever!  Today marks the day I asked my wife Rochelle to marry me.  That’s right…right before the Thanksgiving meal with both of our families present.  She never saw it coming! Bringing Up Girls

“Although our daughters are doing rather well academically and on some measures of social and personal health, I have to tell you that, in many ways, I am even more concerned about girls than boys…Girls are under enormous pressures rarely experienced by their mothers, grandmothers, and other women in previous generations. Fighting The Statistics

Jeff  —  August 20, 2010 — Leave a comment

What if I told you that we could drastically reduce the chances of anxiety, premarital sex, drug and alcohol use, suicide attempts, and many other things in the lives of girls just by our behavior as fathers?  If we could literally change our culture by doing some very intentional things wouldn’t it be worth it?
