I’m not full just because of all of the turkey and pie that I have consumed this week, but I am full as I think about the past fifteen months of my life. As you can see, I have been very quiet here on my blog during that span of time. And by quiet…I do mean incredibly absent. Even though I have been absent here, I have endeavored to be incredibly present in other areas of my life. The past fifteen months for my family and I has been an incredible season of transition and new beginnings. Following is just the tip of the iceberg.
1. We have moved to Henderson, KY to assume the Senior Pastor role of First Assembly of God.
Leading a thriving church has been a dream of mine since I was very young. After God called me into the ministry, I always knew that I would lead a church and trusted God to bring about the correct timing. In July of 2012 that dream was realized as I was elected Senior Pastor of First Assembly of God. The past fifteen months has been filled with moving to a new city, building new relationships, getting settled into a new house, and getting to know and love the staff team that God has put in place here at First Assembly. We have seen many exciting things happen over the past number of months as people have come to Christ, been baptized, and have been equipped for ministry. I am so excited to be able to pastor such a great family of believers and to be a part of the unique calling that God has placed on First Assembly.
2. Madelynn started Pre-school!
Madelynn’s first day of pre-school!
Just before last Thanksgiving Madelynn started Pre-school. It is so hard to believe that I already have a child who is in school. She is loving school and making new friends all of the time. It is so fun to hear about what she is learning and how the mind of pre-schooler works.
3. Rochelle, Madelynn and I welcomed our new baby girl Joy Renee into the world.
On August 21, 2013 at 11:15am Joy Renee Ferguson made her debut into the world. She is living up to her name already and has been welcomed with open arms by her big sister. Unfortunately, she had to stay in the NICU for seven days, but is a very healthy baby who cannot stop smiling. We are actually going to have Joy dedicated in our Sunday morning service on December 8. I am looking forward to that day as it will be something we will remember forever.
What a smile!
The Ferguson family has been moving at a pretty high speed for the past fifteen months! As I look back it is hard to believe everything that has happened in such a short amount time. God has truly blessed us in every area of our life and we cannot wait to see where He will take us.
For those of you who did not know that this blog even existed, I want to encourage you to subscribe by clicking on the envelop icon or the orange rss feed icon at the top right of the page. These posts can come to you right in your email box or through your rss feed. Moving forward, you can expect a post more than once in every fifteen months. Well…I will do more than that and will aim for posting on a weekly basis, but I can’t make any promises. I talk about topics mainly having to do with family, ministry, and leadership. There will also be a great deal about what is happening at First Assembly as well so that you can stay up to date on events, information, and the direction of our church.
Before you leave go ahead and leave a comment below on what God has been doing in your life over the past couple of months.
